Dr Alasdair Pinkerton is a Reader in Geopolitics at Royal Holloway University of London. He teaches and researches on issues related to international border and boundary disputes, and the world’s “No Man’s Lands” – work that has taken him to the Falkland Islands, India, Gibraltar, Sri Lanka, Cyprus, and, recently, Egypt and Sudan.

Al is also the Liberal Democrats' Parliamentary Candidate for Surrey Heath, a constituency that is often considered to be part of the so called "Blue Wall" - previously safe Tory seats now under threat from the Liberal Democrats.
